Apple Pie by Lupita

How it works

a process built around the fitting.

Six steps from a conversation to a finished garment. You see the piece at each one.

Pattern pieces laid out on the cutting table

from a conversation to a garment.

However simple or complicated the piece, the order is the same — and you're involved at every stage rather than just at the end.

01

consultation

Tell Lupita what you have in mind and what it's for. You'll agree on the design, the fabric and a price before any work begins — nothing is a surprise later.

02

measurements & fabric

Measurements are taken in person, properly. You choose from the studio's range of fabrics and colours, or bring your own material if it's something particular.

03

pattern & cutting

A pattern is drafted for your measurements — not graded from a standard size — then laid out and cut by hand.

04

construction

The piece is sewn in the studio. For anything complex you'll get photos as it comes together, so you can say something early if it isn't going the way you pictured.

05

fitting

You try it on and it gets adjusted until it sits right. More than one fitting is normal for tailoring and occasion wear, and it's part of the work, not an add-on.

06

finish & label

Pressed, finished and labelled with the studio's woven tag. Then it's yours.

Fabric in many colours and weights

about fabric.

The studio keeps a wide range — cotton, linen, satin, chiffon, lace, wool, crepe and knit — in a lot of colours. What's in stock changes, which is part of why price depends on availability.

You're also welcome to bring your own cloth. Plenty of clients do, especially when the material is sentimental or came from somewhere particular.

Pricing

what a piece actually costs

01

the design

A simple skirt and a beaded gown are not the same job. Structure, lining, closures and hand finishing all add hours.

02

the fabric

Material cost varies enormously, and some fabrics are simply harder to source or to sew.

03

the timeline

Pieces start at $100 and rise from there. You'll always have a firm number before any cutting starts.
